Not One More Vet (NOMV)

TMG Consulting partnered with NOMV to better understand how their programs were resonating with veterinary students and where opportunities existed to increase their reach and impact. By combining research, design, and strategy, we identified ways to strengthen connections, address barriers to engagement, and create a clearer pathway for community members to access the support they need.

Background

NOMV works to transform the status of mental wellness in the veterinary profession, offering education, resources, and support to veterinary professionals worldwide. While NOMV had grown rapidly and developed a range of programs, they sought to ensure their initiatives were reaching the right audiences, resonating with their needs, and making the intended impact in reducing mental health challenges within the field.

NOMV engaged Consulting by TMG to:

  • Assess how well their programs aligned with the needs and lived experiences of veterinary professionals.

  • Identify opportunities to deepen trust, engagement, and impact across their offerings.

  • Develop recommendations to optimize program delivery and community experience.

Approach

Using a mixed-methods, human-centered approach, we:

  1. Conducted stakeholder interviews with NOMV staff, board members, and key volunteers to capture internal perspectives on strengths, challenges, and opportunities.

  2. Facilitated focus groups and surveys with veterinary professionals to understand barriers to engagement, perceptions of NOMV programs, and unmet needs.

  3. Mapped the community journey to identify where veterinary professionals were most likely to encounter NOMV’s resources, what drove action, and where trust could be strengthened.

  4. Analyzed program performance using both quantitative and qualitative data to assess reach, relevance, and measurable outcomes.

Outcome

Our work revealed that while NOMV’s programs were highly valued by those who used them, there were untapped opportunities to expand awareness, streamline access, and address gaps in mental health resource delivery. Key insights led to recommendations for:

  • Enhancing the onboarding experience for new community members.

  • Strengthening peer-to-peer support pathways.

  • Improving alignment between messaging, delivery channels, and community needs.

These findings positioned NOMV to more effectively serve veterinary professionals, build sustained engagement, and amplify their mental wellness impact.
